What it is and what it does
The Siemens 6SL3211-1PE23-3UL0 is a SINAMICS Power Module PM240-2 — an unfiltered drive power section with an integrated braking chopper, designed to sit under a Control Unit (sold separately) in a modular drive system. It runs on 380-480 V three-phase AC, 47-63 Hz, and delivers 11 kW under high-overload duty (200% for 3 seconds, 150% for 57 seconds, 100% for 240 seconds) up to 50 °C ambient, or 15 kW under low-overload duty (150% for 3 seconds, 110% for 57 seconds) up to 40 °C ambient. That overload curve tells you exactly what this unit can handle for short bursts on a conveyor or pump start — the high-overload rating is what you size against for a real motor start, not the continuous number.
Mounting and integration
Housed in a Frame Size C (FSC) enclosure, 411 x 200 x 171 mm (HxWxD), IP20 protection — so it's meant for a clean, dry cabinet, not a washdown zone. No Control Unit or operator panel included; you supply a CU (e.g., CU240E-2) that snaps onto the front. The datasheet notes it's released as of CU firmware V4.6, so if you're pairing it with an older CU, check the firmware compatibility before you rack it.
