What this PM240-2 Push Through brings to the cabinet
The Siemens 6SL3211-1PE27-5AL0 is a SINAMICS G120 Power Module PM240-2 in the Push Through format — meaning the heat sink passes through the back panel, keeping the drive's hot bits outside the enclosure while the electronics stay inside. It's rated for 3-phase 380-480 VAC input at 47-63 Hz, and comes with the built-in Class A EMC filter and a braking chopper already on board, so you don't need to add either as an external add-on. The overload curves are what matter for sizing: in High Overload duty it delivers 30 kW continuous, with 200% for 3 seconds, 150% for 57 seconds, and 100% for 240 seconds, all at ambient up to 50 °C. Switch to Low Overload and it's 37 kW continuous, with 150% for 3 seconds and 110% for 57 seconds, but ambient is capped at 40 °C. That's a real decision point — if your load cycles hard and the cabinet runs warm, the HO rating is the one to spec against.
Fit and integration notes
This is the FSD frame size, measuring 517 x 275 x 237 mm (H x W x D), with IP20 protection. No control unit or operator panel is included — you'll need a separate CU (Control Unit) from the G120 family, and the power module is approved for CU firmware version V4.7 SP6 and later. The Push Through mounting means the panel cutout and gland plate need to accommodate the heat sink passing through; factor that into your enclosure layout before you start drilling.
