Drive selection memo
The Siemens 6SL3217-0CE31-1UA0 is a SINAMICS V10-1 AC drive rated for 11.0 kW output on a 3-phase 380 V supply (-15/+20%, 48-62 Hz). The overload profile is 150 % for 60 s, then 100 % for 240 s, cycling every 300 s — that means it can handle a 150 % current demand for a full minute to get a motor past a stalled load or acceleration peak, then needs 4 minutes at rated load to cool before the next overload event. Ambient temperature range is 0 to +50 °C; above that, derate per the thermal curve. The enclosure is IP21 with the standard BOP (Basic Operator Panel) fitted, so it's suited for clean, dry indoor panel environments — not washdown or outdoor duty.
Integration notes
The drive measures 331 x 218 x 203 mm (HxWxD). That footprint fits a standard 400 mm deep enclosure with room for gland plates above and below. The IP21 rating means no gasket seal on the enclosure door — fine for a climate-controlled panel, but keep it away from dripping water or condensation. The drive ships without an input filter; if the installation requires EMC compliance for the first environment (residential or light industrial), an external filter will be needed between the supply and the drive. The BOP provides local control and parameter access; for remote operation, the drive accepts a standard analog input and digital commands via the terminal strip.
