The Siemens 6SL3217-0CE31-8UA1 is a SINAMICS V10-1 AC drive rated for 18.5 kW output on a 3-phase 400 VAC supply (-15/+20%, 48-52 Hz). It delivers 150% overload for 60 seconds and 100% for 240 seconds on a 300-second cycle — enough for a pump or fan with moderate starting torque, but not for a high-inertia load like a centrifuge that needs sustained overload. The IP21 enclosure with BOP (Basic Operator Panel) suits clean, dry indoor panels; no built-in EMC filter, so plan for an external filter if the line has conducted emission limits.
Integration notes
Footprint is 401 x 260 x 223 mm (HxWxD), FSD frame size. Mount in a ventilated enclosure with clearance above and below for airflow; the 0 to +50 °C ambient limit means no derating up to that ceiling, but above 40 °C the internal heatsink needs free convection — avoid stacking drives directly. The BOP provides local parameter access; the drive accepts standard SINAMICS G-series commissioning tools over the serial interface.
