75 kW pump and fan drive — 136 A at 400 V
The Siemens 6SL3220-1YD42-0UB0 is a SINAMICS G120XA AC drive rated 75 kW at 400 V under low-overload (LO) duty, pulling 136 A continuous at that operating point. Line voltage tolerance is wide — 380 to 440 V +10 % / -20 % — which covers nominal 400 V grids across Europe and Asia, and the 47–63 Hz input frequency range lets it run on 50 or 60 Hz supplies without reconfiguration.
Output frequency ceiling by control mode
V/f control reaches 550 Hz output, suitable for high-speed spindles or centrifuge drives. Vector control tops out at 240 Hz — enough for most standard induction motors up to 2-pole base speeds, but if the application needs above 240 Hz with torque control, the V/f path is the only option. The default 4 kHz pulse frequency is a compromise between motor audible noise and switching loss. Raising it quiets the motor but derates output current; the 73.1 dB sound pressure level at 1 m is measured at the factory setting — expect higher acoustic noise if the carrier is pushed up.
Efficiency and thermal budget
At 0.98 efficiency, the drive loses 1.72 kW as heat at full rated output. That heat must be evacuated from the enclosure — for a panel-mounted installation, size the ventilation or air conditioning to handle that dissipation plus the motor's reflected losses. The power factor range of 0.75 to 0.93 (cos φ 0.99 offset) means input harmonics are moderate; a line reactor is still advisable for installations with weak supply or multiple drives on the same bus.
