37 kW pump and fan drive with built-in fieldbus
The 6SL3220-3YE36-0UB0 is a SINAMICS G120X variable frequency drive rated at 37 kW with 110% overload capability for 60 seconds and 100% for 240 seconds — a duty cycle matched to centrifugal pump and fan loads where the peak torque demand is brief. Input range is 380-480 VAC three-phase, +10/-20%, 47-63 Hz, unfiltered — plan for external line reactor if the supply has harmonic limits or the installation requires a clean sine wave at the drive input. The FSD frame size and IP20 / UL open type enclosure mean it mounts inside a panel, not standalone. Packaging dimensions are 305 x 545 x 430 mm — verify the enclosure depth before cutting the backplate.
Fieldbus and operator interface — no extra modules needed
MODBUS RTU, BACnet MS/TP, and USS are integrated on the drive — no fieldbus module to order, slot, or configure separately. For a building-services or water/wastewater installation, the BACnet MS/TP connection talks directly to the BMS without a gateway. The Intelligent Operator Panel (IOP) is included — local start/stop, parameter editing, and diagnostics without a laptop. Commissioning engineers can set the motor data and ramp times at the drive face. No IO expansion is fitted — the base I/O covers a run command, analog reference, and a fault relay. If the application needs extra digital inputs or a second analog output, add an external IO block on the fieldbus.
Active production and compliance paperwork
RoHS compliant since 01 July 2006, and REACH Article 33 disclosure is available on the current candidate list — the compliance documentation covers EU substance restrictions for equipment shipped into regulated markets. Export control is AL: N / ECCN: N — no special license required for most destinations, but confirm the end-use country if it falls under a regional embargo.
The 37 kW rating at 110% overload for 60 seconds matches the NEMA MG1 variable-torque starting profile — a pump starting against a closed discharge valve draws less than 110% FLA, so the drive stays in the continuous duty band. Ambient temperature range is -20 to +45 °C — inside a non-conditioned enclosure in a plant that hits 40 °C, the drive has 5 °C of headroom before derating. Above 45 °C, the output current must be reduced per the derating curve in the manual. The unfiltered input means the drive generates conducted emissions at the switching frequency.
