Power module for motor control cabinets
The Siemens 6SL3224-0BE27-5AA0 is a SINAMICS G120 Power Module PM240 — the power stage that drives the motor, fed by a separate Control Unit (not included). It accepts 380... 480 V ±10 % 3 AC at 47... 63 Hz and delivers 7.5 kW under high-overload duty (200 % for 3 s, 150 % for 57 s, 100 % for 240 s at -10 to +50 °C) or 11 kW under low-overload duty (150 % for 3 s, 110 % for 57 s, 100 % for 240 s at -10 to +40 °C). The 31.50 A rated current without line reactor sets the motor cable and fuse sizing floor.
The high-overload rating at 7.5 kW is what matters for a pump, fan, or conveyor that needs starting torque or short bursts above nameplate — the 200 % for 3 s handles breakaway torque. The low-overload 11 kW rating suits constant-torque loads with no peak demand. The integrated class A EMC filter keeps conducted emissions within EN 61800-3 Category C2 limits for first-environment installations; skip the external filter on most industrial mains. The built-in braking chopper accepts an external resistor for stopping high-inertia loads or overhauling torque — no add-on module needed.
Integration notes
No Control Unit ships with this power module — order one separately (e.g., CU240E-2 or CU250S-2) and plug it into the top interface. The integrated braking chopper terminals are clearly marked; size the external resistor per the load cycle. The class A filter is integral, so no additional EMC plate is required for CE-marked panels. Rated current without line reactor is 31.50 A — if you add a line reactor, the current rating shifts; check the reactor datasheet for the derated figure.
