Power module for the SINAMICS G120 chassis
The Siemens 6SL3224-0BE31-1AA0 is a SINAMICS G120 PM240 power module — the section that handles the motor current and DC bus, with an integrated Class A EMC filter and a built-in braking chopper for dynamic loads. It is a spare part and ships without a Control Unit or BOP operator panel. Rated for 380-480 VAC three-phase, +10/-10%, 47-63 Hz. Under high overload duty it delivers 11 kW at 200% overload for 3 seconds, 150% for 57 seconds, and 100% continuous over 240 seconds, with an ambient range of -10 to +50 °C. Under low overload duty it delivers 15 kW at 150% for 3 seconds, 110% for 57 seconds, and 100% continuous, but the ambient ceiling drops to +40 °C — so the overload profile dictates the cooling requirement in the panel. The integrated Class A filter means it meets conducted-emission limits for the first environment (industrial) without an external filter, saving a DIN-rail slot. The braking chopper handles regenerative energy from decelerating loads — vertical conveyors, centrifuges, or any overhauling load — without a separate braking module.
Panel integration and mechanical fit
The module measures 334 x 189 x 185 mm (HxWxD) and carries an IP20 degree of protection — suitable for clean, dry enclosure environments where no washdown or dust ingress is expected. Plan for top and bottom cable entry clearance; the integrated filter and chopper add some depth over a bare-chassis drive. It requires a separate Control Unit (CU) which mounts onto the front interface. The BOP (Basic Operator Panel) is also separate.
