Power module with built-in regenerative braking
The 6SL3225-0BE32-2UA0 is a SINAMICS G120 Power Module PM250 rated for 22 kW high overload (HO) and 30 kW light overload (LO) on a 380-480 VAC three-phase supply. High overload delivers 200% current for 3 seconds, 150% for 57 seconds, and 100% for 240 seconds — sized for conveyors, pumps, and fans that need short torque bursts without oversizing the drive. Light overload at 150% for 3 seconds, 110% for 57 seconds, and 100% for 240 seconds suits constant-torque applications running below rated speed. Unlike the standard PM240, this PM250 variant includes regenerative capability — it can feed braking energy back into the line rather than dumping it across a resistor. That cuts energy costs and panel heat in applications with frequent deceleration cycles, like centrifuges, hoists, or unwinders.
The unit ships in a 510 x 400 x 310 mm package. RoHS compliance dates from May 2016; note the REACH Article 33 disclosure for lead (CAS 7439-92-1) above 0.1% w/w in certain components.
Integration notes for the PM250 FSD frame
This is a PM250 frame size FSD, 419 x 275 x 204 mm (HxWxD), IP20 enclosure. It requires an external Control Unit (CU) and BOP to operate — neither is included. The power module mates directly with the CU via the standard SINAMICS G120 backplane interface; no additional wiring is needed for the control link. The regenerative function is active by default on the PM250 — no external braking resistor or chopper module is required. For applications that cannot feed back to the line (e.g., generator-fed island grids), the regen can be disabled via parameter setting. Input is 380-480 VAC +10/-10%, 47-63 Hz; the unit includes no internal line filter, so external EMC filtering may be needed depending on the installation environment.
