Drive selection memo: PM260 for high-line regenerative duty
The Siemens 6SL3225-0BH27-5UA0 is a SINAMICS G120 PM260 power module sized for a 7.5 kW motor under high overload (HO) on a 660-690 VAC three-phase supply, with regenerative capability built in — no external braking resistor needed for overhauling loads on conveyors, hoists, or centrifuges that need to dump energy back to the line. The HO rating delivers 200% overload for 3 seconds, 150% for 57 seconds, and 100% continuous for 240 seconds, all at 50 °C ambient. Under light overload (LO) it handles 11 kW with 140% for 3 seconds, 110% for 57 seconds, and 100% for 240 seconds, but ambient must stay at or below 40 °C for that duty. This module ships without a Control Unit or BOP — you pair it with a CU from the G120 family (CU230P-2, CU240B-2, CU250S-2, etc.) over the internal drive-cliq interface. The PM260 variant includes an integrated line filter? No — this is the without-filter version, so plan for external EMC filtering if the installation requires EN 61800-3 Category C2 or C3 compliance.
Housing is FSD frame size, 512 x 275 x 204 mm (HxWxD), IP20 protection — designed for enclosure mounting, not open-panel washdown. No control unit or BOP included — order separately. The PM260 mates to the CU via the drive-cliq port on the power module front. The regenerative capability means the DC-link can feed power back to the supply; verify that the upstream supply transformer and line reactor (if any) are rated for bi-directional power flow.
