What this module delivers
The Siemens 6SL3320-1TH34-7AA0 is a SINAMICS S120 Single Motor Module rated for 465 A continuous output at 450 kW, fed from a DC-link bus of 890 to 1035 V DC. Output is three-phase AC, 0 to 690 V, making it a direct-fit power stage for large induction or synchronous servo motors in a multi-axis cabinet. Chassis format IP00 with internal air cooling — no external fan unit required, but the enclosure must provide forced airflow across the heatsink. The module ships with a DRIVE-CLiQ cable, so it connects straight into the SINAMICS S120 drive system communication ring without a separate order.
Sourcing and lifecycle reality
Sourcing is straightforward through independent distribution channels. Submit an RFQ for current pricing and availability — lead times for a mature SINAMICS S120 module at this power level are generally quoted against the build schedule.
What the 465 A rating means in the cabinet
465 A is the module's rated output current at the nominal switching frequency — not a peak or short-time rating. That figure determines the motor cable cross-section (typically 2× 185 mm² per phase for runs under 100 m), the DC-link busbar sizing, and the upstream infeed module capacity. A SINAMICS S120 Smart Line Module or Active Line Module feeding the DC link must be rated for at least the sum of all connected motor module currents. The 450 kW rating applies to a standard 4-pole induction motor at 400 V AC output. For servo motors or higher-speed spindles, the effective power scales with the actual voltage and torque demand — the current limit (465 A) is the hard constraint. IP00 chassis means no ingress protection: the module must live inside a ventilated or air-conditioned cabinet. Internal air cooling pulls air through the heatsink fins; cabinet fans must move enough volume to keep the heatsink inlet air below 40 °C for full current rating. Derating above that is per the SINAMICS S120 manual thermal curves.
