The Siemens 6SL3517-1BE14-3AM0 is a SINAMICS G110M PM240M power module sized for a 1.5 kW motor under high overload duty — 200% overload for 3 seconds, 150% for 57 seconds, then 100% for 240 seconds. That cycle suits a pump or conveyor that needs short torque bursts to clear a jam or accelerate a loaded belt, not a continuous crusher load. The integrated Class A filter is built in, so no external EMC filter is needed for standard industrial environments; just land the 380-480 V 3 AC supply at 47-63 Hz and the motor leads. IP65 means the enclosure withstands washdown — suitable for food-and-bev or packaging lines where hose-down cleaning is routine. The SD/MMC card slot stores parameter sets, so a swap of the power module can be restored from the card without a laptop.
Integration notes for a washdown zone
Mounting dimensions are 135 x 161 x 270 mm (HxWxD), frame size FSA, without a Control Unit — the CU is ordered separately and plugs onto the module. Ambient temperature range is -10 to +55 °C, so the module can live inside a non-conditioned cabinet near a hot process line or outdoors under a shade. The IP65 rating covers the module body and the cable glands; ensure the mating connectors are also rated for washdown or the enclosure seal is defeated. Spring-cage terminals on the power and I/O connections accept 0.2–2.5 mm² solid or ferruled stranded — strip length 8 mm to avoid whiskers under the cage.
