Drive selection memo
The Siemens 6SL3532-6DF71-0RG2 is a SINAMICS S120M distributed servo drive in the AH36 frame size, delivering 1.00 Nm holding torque at a 3000 RPM rated speed. It accepts a DC 600V input and carries a 20-bit absolute encoder for position feedback. Natural air cooling keeps it simple — no coolant lines, no fan filters to swap. The shaft-end seal is IP65; the body is IP67, which means washdown zones are in play as long as the cable glands are properly torqued. Plain shaft, no holding brake — so if the load can back-drive on power loss, you need an external brake or a mechanical lock.
Mounting and environment
The drive supports IM B5 (flange mount), IM V1 (vertical shaft up), and IM V3 (vertical shaft down) orientations. That covers most machine-axis layouts without a custom adapter plate. The IP65/IP67 rating holds across all three mounting positions — no derating for the vertical orientations as long as the cable entry points downward or is sealed.
