The Siemens 6SL3542-6DF71-0RB2 is a SINAMICS S120M distributed servo-drive in the AH48 frame size, delivering 2.5 Nm continuous torque at 3000 rpm rated speed from a 600 V DC input bus. The absolute encoder provides 20-bit position feedback, eliminating the need for a separate encoder cable in many layouts. The holding brake holds the load at zero speed without power, which matters for vertical-axis or gravity-loaded applications where the drive must not drift on power loss.
Integration and mounting
Mounting configurations include IM B5 (flange), IM V1, and IM V3, so the drive fits both horizontal and vertical shaft orientations without adapter plates. The housing carries IP65 ingress protection; the shaft end is rated IP67, meaning the drive withstands washdown spray and dust ingress in food-and-bev or packaging lines where hose-down cleaning is routine. Natural air cooling keeps the enclosure sealed — no fan intake that could pull coolant mist into the windings.
