Distributed servo drive for decentralized motion
The Siemens 6SL3562-6DF71-0RA2 is a SINAMICS S120M distributed servo drive in an AH63 frame, rated for 5 Nm continuous torque at 3000 RPM nominal speed, powered from a DC 600 V bus. It carries a 20-bit absolute encoder for position feedback and relies on natural air cooling, so no external fan ducting is needed in the cabinet or on the machine frame. The drive is built for washdown environments: IP65 on the body and IP67 at the shaft end, with a fitted key tolerance N. It supports mounting orientations IM B5 (flange), IM V1 (vertical shaft up), and IM V3 (vertical shaft down), giving flexibility for direct coupling to a gearbox or belt pulley.
Integration and wiring notes
The drive accepts a DC 600 V input from a shared SINAMICS S120M DC bus, so the supply module and any regenerative braking unit must be sized for the total bus load. The 20-bit absolute encoder interface uses a standard Siemens DRIVE-CLiQ connection; verify the cable length and shielding per the S120M system manual to avoid signal degradation over long runs. No holding brake is fitted on this variant, so the connected load must be self-locking or a separate external brake must be added for vertical-axis applications. The natural air cooling limits ambient temperature; check the derating curve if the drive is enclosed in a non-ventilated cabinet.
