Distributed servo-drive for decentralized motion
The Siemens 6SL3562-6DF71-0RH2 is a SINAMICS S120M distributed servo-drive in the AH63 frame size, rated for 5 Nm continuous torque at 3000 RPM nominal speed. It runs on a DC 600 V bus — typical for SINAMICS S120 shared-DC-link architectures — and carries a 20-bit absolute encoder for position feedback without homing cycles. Natural air cooling keeps the enclosure simple; the IP65-rated body and IP67 shaft end let it mount directly on a machine frame in washdown zones, as long as the cable glands are properly torqued.
What the ratings mean for fit
5 Nm at 3000 RPM delivers about 1.6 kW mechanical shaft power — sized for small indexing tables, pick-and-place axes, or servo-driven conveyors where the load inertia is moderate. The holding brake holds the vertical axis at power-off, so no external brake resistor is needed for static holding. The 20-bit absolute encoder (roughly 1,048,576 counts per revolution) gives fine position resolution for closed-loop torque and speed control; the drive knows the rotor position at power-up without a reference run. The DC 600 V input ties into a common SINAMICS S120 infeed module — not a standalone AC-fed drive.
