DN 40 electromagnetic flow sensor for water and wastewater
The Siemens 7ME6580-2RF14-2AA1 is a SITRANS F M MAG 5100 W electromagnetic flow sensor sized for DN 40 (1½") pipe — the 2R diameter code in the order string tells you the line size at a glance. This is the sensor-only variant (transmitter ordered separately), so the BOM needs a matching MAG 5000 or MAG 6000 transmitter to get a loop signal out. No onboard communication — the A in position 5 of the order code means add-on communication is possible via the transmitter. The ebonite hard rubber liner and Hastelloy electrodes handle aggressive fluids — think raw sewage, slurries, or chemical dosing lines where standard stainless electrodes would pit. The carbon steel flanges carry a C4 corrosion-resistant coating, good for moderately corrosive atmospheres in treatment plants or industrial process areas.
Flange rating and pressure boundary
Flanges are PN40 per the F code in position 8 — that's a 40 bar nominal pressure rating at the flange face, which applies to the DN 25-50 range. For a DN 40 sensor this means the pressure boundary holds up to 40 bar at ambient temperature; derate per EN 1092-1 as the process temperature climbs.
