Surviving the kiln floor – temp and enclosure
The 1SAP420700R0001: Rated for ambient operation from -30 °C to +70 °C – that covers the hot control room near the preheater tower or the cold end of the yard. But the IP20 rating means the electronics are open to the air. In a cement plant, that module lives inside a sealed enclosure, not out in the dust. Mount it behind a panel with at least IP54, and it'll eat the heat and run for years. The 5 mA input current per channel is typical; no surprises there.
Power and wiring constraints
Supply voltage is 20.4 to 28.8 V DC – standard 24 V nominal. The outputs are transistor-sinking type, 0.5 A per channel. Total module current draw isn't given in the spec, but the 5 mA per input plus output load goes on the same supply. Keep the 24 V rail clean; the PROFINET interface handles the real-time comms.
Compliance paperwork
RoHS compliant per EU 2011/65/EU (including amendment 2015/863). REACH registered; the SCIP dossier is on file. The CN8 tariff code is 85389091 – that's how customs sees it. No CE mark is stated in the spec, but it's implied for EU sale.
