10 A thermal bi-metallic — Trip Class 10 protection for AF contactors
The ABB TF42-10 is a NEMA-type thermal overload relay rated for a 7.6–10 A range, 3-pole, with a Trip Class 10 characteristic. It is designed for use with ABB AF Series contactors in the AF9–AF38 frame sizes. The thermal bi-metallic element provides motor overload protection by tracking the heating curve of the motor windings.
Selectable reset and mounting with AF contactors
The TF42-10 offers selectable manual or automatic reset, giving the panel builder control over restart behavior after a trip — manual reset for attended machinery, automatic for remote or unattended installations. It mounts directly to AF9–AF38 frame contactors, sharing the same DIN-rail or panel footprint. The thermal element is ambient-compensated, so the trip point stays stable across the panel's internal temperature range.
