CANopen node with 24 digital channels
The 1SAP428200R0001: This ABB CI582 module puts 8 dedicated digital inputs, 8 dedicated transistor outputs, and another 8 channels that can serve as either input or output under software control on a single CANopen slave node. That gives you 24 digital points in one IP20 housing, with the flex to adjust channel assignment per machine cell without changing hardware.
Ratings and fit
Supply the node from any 24VDC rail within 20.4…28.8 V — it stays alive through a brownout or a slightly overvoltage bus. Each input draws 5 mA from that rail; budget total bus current for all inputs when calculating the supply capacity. The transistor outputs are rated 0.5 A per channel, continuous. That drives small solenoid valves, pilot lights, or relay coils directly. For loads above 0.5 A or inductive kickback, add an external flyback diode or interposing relay. Ambient temperature range from -30°C to +70°C covers cold warehouses, unheated enclosures, or the heat inside a crowded cabinet. No forced cooling required at the warm end; derating may apply above 70°C — check the thermal curve if the node sits near a heat source. The configurable delay (0.1…32 ms) on the inputs allows debouncing or signal filtering in software, reducing false triggers on noisy field wiring.
