HMI integration walkthrough
The ABB CP6407 (1SAP540710R0001) is a 7-inch TFT resistive touch HMI with 800 x 480 pixel resolution and 64 K colors, running a Chromium Browser for web-based visualization. It's part of the CP6400 series, built for panel-mount applications where a front IP66 rating means the display face handles washdown — food, beverage, or light chemical lines — without an extra cover. Supply voltage is 18 to 32 V DC, so it runs on a standard 24 VDC panel supply with headroom for brownout ride-through.
Panel cutout depth is 40 mm (built-in depth t2), which fits shallow enclosures. Ambient operating temperature spans -20 to +60 °C — fine for unheated cabinets or near process heat, but watch the upper end if the panel is sun-loaded or next to a steam line. Two Industrial Ethernet ports are on board, so daisy-chaining to a PLC or upstream switch is straightforward without an external hub.
