Rated current and frame sizing for panel coordination
The 1SDA068129R1: Rated current In=100 A sets the continuous load the breaker carries without tripping in a 40 °C ambient — match this to the downstream conductor ampacity and the load current on the distribution bus. The Iu=160 A frame rating means the XT4 mechanical shell and contacts are sized for 160 A thermal withstand, giving 60 A of headroom above the In setting. This headroom supports selective coordination with upstream breakers — the XT4 can ride through short-time overcurrents without opening before the downstream device clears. Three-pole configuration covers three-phase distribution circuits —, L2, L3. The neutral is handled separately or via a 4-pole variant if needed.
Ekip I trip unit — LI protection curve
The Ekip I electronic trip unit provides LI protection — long-time delay (L) for overloads and instantaneous (I) for short-circuits. No ground-fault or short-time delay function; this is a straight distribution breaker, not a main or generator breaker. Rated voltage 690 V AC at 50/60 Hz covers 400 V and 480 V systems with margin — the breaker interrupts at the full rated voltage without derating for the standard distribution voltages.
Lifecycle and sourcing — active production
The XT4 platform is ABB's current-generation molded-case breaker family, replacing the older Tmax T4 series. The Ekip I trip unit is the electronic entry-level option — field-replaceable and compatible with the XT4 accessories (auxiliary contacts, shunt trip, motor operator).
