160 A continuous rating sets the load ceiling
The 1SDA068172R1 is a breaking part within the ABB XT2V 160 frame, rated for a continuous uninterrupted current Iu of 160 A. This is the thermal ceiling for the main circuit — the part carries 160 A without exceeding the temperature rise limits of the XT2 frame. Four poles (4p) allow switching of three-phase circuits plus neutral, or dual-supply configurations where both legs need isolation. The 690 V rated voltage provides headroom for 400/480 V line-to-line systems and covers line-to-ground isolation margins.
150 kA interrupting capacity for selectivity
The Icu (ultimate breaking capacity) is 150 kA at 415 V AC. This is the fault-clearing capability — the part safely interrupts a short-circuit current up to that level without self-destruction. For selectivity coordination downstream of a larger feeder, the 150 kA Icu lets the XT2V 160 clear a fault before the upstream device trips, keeping the rest of the bus live. Rated frequency covers both 50 Hz and 60 Hz mains, so the same order code works on 50 Hz European or 60 Hz North American systems without a variant change.
