The ABB 1SFA894013R7000 is a PST250-series softstarter rated for 250 A in-line connection (Ie) and 430 A inside-delta, delivering 132 kW at 400 V in-line or 220 kW at 400 V inside-delta. It carries a built-in electronic overload with a current-limit function adjustable from 1.5 to 7 times Ie, so the overload curve is integral — no separate external relay needed on the line side. The ramp time spans 0 to 120 seconds, with initial voltage during start settable 30–70 % and a step-down special ramp from 100 down to 30 %, giving you control over both acceleration and deceleration profiles for pump, fan, or conveyor starts.
Control and feedback
Control supply voltage is 100–250 V AC; a separate 24 V DC control circuit is available for PLC-level logic. The unit provides dedicated run, fault, bypass, and overload signal relays — four discrete dry contacts for status feedback to the controller without adding interface modules. Communication is via a standard FieldBusPlug, meaning it accepts the common ABB fieldbus adapter for PROFIBUS, DeviceNet, or Modbus RTU without a separate gateway. Analog output is 0–10 V, usable for speed or current follow.
Main circuit terminals are bars with a 10.2 mm hole — expect bus-bar or cable-lug connections, not spring-clamp. Control-circuit tightening torque is 0.5 N·m. The main terminals carry IP00 protection per IEC 60529, so the unit is intended for enclosure mounting where the cabinet provides the environmental seal. Ambient operating range is 0 to +50 °C, with a 115 % service factor — it can sustain 115 % of rated current for short periods without tripping, useful for high-inertia loads.
