The ABB 1SFA895014R7020 is a PST300-series softstarter rated for 300 A in-line connection (160 kW at 400 V) and 515 A inside-delta (257 kW at 400 V). Control supply is 100–250 V AC; a separate 24 V DC control circuit is available for logic-level interfacing. Built-in electronic overload protection eliminates the need for a separate overload relay — set the current limit between 1.5 and 7× Ie. Ramp time is adjustable from 0 to 120 seconds, with initial voltage during start configurable from 30 to 70 %.
Integration Notes
Main circuit terminals are bars with a 10.2 mm hole — sized for lug-type connections. Control circuit terminals accept rigid 1 x 2.5 mm² wire; tighten to 0.5 N·m. The unit includes run, fault, bypass, and overload signal relays (all Yes), plus a yellow protection LED and red fault LED. Communication is via a standard FieldBusPlug — no separate module needed for basic fieldbus connectivity. Ambient operating temperature 0 to +50 °C; IP00 on main terminals per IEC 60529 and IEC 60947-1.
Duty & Protection
Starting capacity is 3× Ie for 15 seconds — enough for standard squirrel-cage motor starts. Service factor 115 % allows continuous overload margin. The step-down voltage special ramp can be set from 100 to 30 % for applications needing a soft stop or pump-shedding profile. Analog output is 0–10 V for speed or current feedback to a PLC or drive.
