100 A primary, 5 A secondary – class 1 metering
The ABB 1SVR450116R5200 is a plug-in current transformer from the CM-CT range, with a rated primary current of 100 A and a secondary rated current of 5 A. The burden is 2.5 VA, and the precision is class 1 — meaning the ratio error stays within ±1 % at rated current, which is tight enough for submetering and panel instrumentation where a revenue-grade 0.5 or 0.2 class isn't required.
Burden and accuracy – what they mean for the loop
The 2.5 VA burden at class 1 means the transformer can drive a typical 5 A meter or relay coil plus the interconnecting wire resistance without saturating the core or pulling the accuracy outside the ±1 % band. If the total burden of the secondary loop (meter + leads) exceeds 2.5 VA, the accuracy degrades — so keep the wiring run short and the meter input impedance within that VA budget. The CM-CT 100/5 ships with a foot angle, insulating protective cap, and bar fastening screws. A snap-on DIN rail mounting bracket is available as an accessory — the transformer itself does not clip directly onto the rail without it.
