C-curve trip characteristic, 6 A rating
The ABB 2CCS471001R0064 is a 1-pole miniature circuit breaker (MCB) with a C-curve tripping characteristic and a 6 A rated current. The C-curve magnetic trip operates between 5 and 10 times the rated current, making it the standard choice for branch circuits feeding small motors, lighting banks, and transformers where moderate inrush currents are expected. Rated insulation voltage is 440 V, and the overvoltage category is III — this breaker is designed for fixed installation downstream of the main distribution board, not for equipment-level protection.
Breaking capacity and fault-current rating
The service breaking capacity (Icn) is 10 kA per IEC 60898 — this is the value that governs the installation's fault-current rating and the breaker's ability to clear a short-circuit and remain serviceable afterward. The ultimate breaking capacity (Icu) is 25 kA, representing the maximum fault current the breaker can interrupt once without replacement. For a panel fed from a transformer with a prospective short-circuit current below 10 kA, the Icn figure is the binding limit. Above 10 kA, the breaker still clears the fault (up to 25 kA) but must be replaced afterward.
DIN-rail form factor and panel integration
The breaker mounts on a standard DIN rail (EN 60715) and occupies a single module width of 69 mm. Depth is 94.5 mm, height is 89 mm — these dimensions fit standard distribution board enclosures without clearance issues. IP20 rated — the terminals are finger-safe but the breaker is not sealed against moisture or dust. Suitable for indoor panel environments only. Screw terminals accept field wiring with ring or fork lugs; torque values are marked on the terminal face.
