Two-level breaking capacity for 3-phase fault clearing
The 2CCS883001R0254: Rated short-circuit breaking capacity Icn is 15 kA per IEC 60898 — this is the service-limit rating for the MCB as a standalone device in a residential or light commercial panel. The ultimate breaking capacity Icu is 25 kA per IEC 60947-2, which covers the higher fault currents possible in industrial distribution boards where the breaker is part of an assembly with upstream protection.
C-curve tripping for inductive loads
Tripping characteristic C means the magnetic trip operates at 5 to 10 times the rated current (125–250 A for this 25 A breaker). That window sits above the inrush of a 7.5 kW three-phase motor (typically 6–8× FLA for 50 ms) but below the level of a hard short circuit.
Width is 81 mm — three standard 27 mm module positions on a DIN rail, which is the same footprint as the ABB S200 series 3-pole breakers. Depth of 82.5 mm means the breaker projects less than 85 mm from the rail face, leaving room for wiring ducts and terminal blocks in a crowded cabinet. Screw terminals with a max tightening torque of 3.5 Nm accept up to 25 mm² conductor — typical for a 25 A feed in a distribution board.
It is available for both new panel designs and replacement of an existing S200-series breaker in the field.
