The ABB 2TLA050074R2100 is a magnetic non-contact safety switch with a quick-connect (QC) cable, offering 2 normally-closed and 1 normally-open contacts. This is a current-production part, still in active manufacture.
The 2 NC contacts provide a redundant safety circuit for guard door monitoring — typical for PL d / SIL 3 applications where a single fault must not lead to loss of the safety function. The 1 NO auxiliary contact can signal the door status to a PLC without breaking the safety loop. The QC cable simplifies field replacement: unplug the old switch, plug in the new one, no re-wiring of the gland plate.
