Heavy-duty vs light-overload — which rating governs your pump
The 3AXD50000446353: The UL table gives two operating points: 5 A / 5 HP for heavy-duty (constant-torque loads like screw pumps or sludge mixers) and 24 A / 8 HP for light-overload (variable-torque centrifugal pumps). The 24 A figure is the higher current capability, but it assumes the drive is not asked to sustain peak torque continuously — match the duty to your pump curve, not the headline number.
Mounting and enclosure fit
Wall-mounted, IP55 / NEMA Type12. The enclosure is rated for indoor use where dust, dripping water, or hose-down cleaning is present — no additional panel needed if the ambient stays within that spec. Input voltage range is 208-240 V three-phase, so it lands on a standard North American 240 V delta or 208 V wye supply without a transformer.
