The ABB 3AXD50001109479 is an ACQ580-01 series wall-mounted LV AC drive purpose-built for water and wastewater duty. It delivers 7.5 kW (31.2 A) under IEC normal-use rating and 10 Hp (31 A) under UL light-overload use, fed from a 200-240 V three-phase supply. The unit ships with the control unit included.
The normal-use output current of 31.2 A (Pn 7.5 kW) covers continuous pump and fan duty. Heavy-duty use is rated 24.2 A (5.5 kW) for higher-torque loads like screw pumps or conveyors. Light-overload use at 30.8 A (7.5 kW) aligns with the UL 10 Hp rating, giving the same headroom for variable-torque applications. The 0.98 power factor and IE2 efficiency level mean the drive draws near-unity power from the line, reducing upstream cable and transformer sizing.
Environmental sealing and mounting
IP66 and NEMA Type 4X enclosure means the drive handles washdown environments, dust, and hose-directed water — common in water treatment and wastewater plants. Wall-mounted format keeps it off the floor in wet pits or chemical storage areas. Maximum ambient temperature is 40 °C, so it needs ventilation or derating if installed in a hot pump house or near process heat.
Control and I/O complement
Two analog inputs and two analog outputs handle pressure or flow transducer feedback and speed reference. Six digital inputs and three digital outputs manage start/stop, fault reset, and status feedback. Communication is over CAN bus — this is the native drive-to-drive link for the ACQ580 family; no built-in Ethernet port (0 industrial Ethernet interfaces). A CR2032 lithium coin cell (220 mAh, 3 V) backs the real-time clock and parameter storage.
Standby loss and frequency range
Standby loss of 14 W is low enough that the drive can be left powered when the pump is off — no forced cooling needed at idle.
