The A2A series is a compact thermal-magnetic breaker family used in panelboard and switchboard distribution for feeder and branch circuit protection. The 200A frame covers heavy lighting, motor control center feeders, and general power distribution loads up to that ampacity.
The 10 kAIC interrupting rating means it can safely clear a fault current up to 10,000 symmetrical amperes at its rated voltage — adequate for most secondary-side distribution in 480Y/277V or 240V delta panels, but not for high-fault-capacity service entrances where 25 kAIC or higher is required. The shunt trip (SB) allows remote tripping via a control voltage, typically wired to an emergency-stop circuit or fire-alarm relay. Line and load lugs are included, so no additional lug kit is needed for copper or aluminum conductors within the breaker's wire range.
Deployment Context
This breaker mounts into Eaton A2A-series panelboards or separate enclosures via the standard bolted connection pattern. The shunt trip requires a separate control power source (typically 120V or 24VDC, depending on the trip coil rating — verify the specific coil voltage marked on the unit). In a panel, the 2-pole 200A frame occupies two pole spaces and connects to the bus via the line-side lugs; load-side lugs feed the downstream circuit. For MRO planners: this is a line-item that, being eol_hot, should be cross-referenced to an active Eaton frame series (such as the G or J-frame) for any new BOM or expansion — keep this SKU only for existing installed-base repairs where form-factor and accessory wiring must match.
