What the drive is sized for
The ABB ACS180-04N-02A4-1 is a low-voltage AC machinery drive module, 3-phase input rated 380... 480 V across 47.5... 63 Hz, built on the R0 frame at 70 mm wide × 209 mm tall × 143 mm deep — so it slots into a compact panel envelope and accepts the European three-phase mains without a step-down transformer. IP20 open-type enclosure is the part's rating on the data sheet, which means the module is meant to live inside a cabinet rather than mount on a wall — any panel layout has to budget the enclosure volume around it, not the drive alone.
Panel-side wiring and EMC posture
Mains-side wiring carries the 3-phase 380... 480 V feed, so upstream breaker and short-circuit coordination have to be sized for the same voltage class the drive expects — the IP20 chassis assumes the line entry lands inside a properly bonded enclosure that handles the field wiring cleanly. Mount it close to the line entry inside the cabinet; the IP20 R0 footprint (70 × 209 × 143 mm) leaves enough room on a standard DIN backplate to keep motor cable runs short, which is what keeps common-mode drive noise off adjacent analog and encoder cabling.
