What the module is
The ABB ACS180-04N-12A2-1 is an LV AC machinery drive module in the R1 frame, built as a single-phase unit for 200–240 V supplies. It is rated IP20 in an open-type enclosure, so it expects to live inside a cabinet rather than be field-mounted bare. Native fieldbus on this code is MODBUS, which fixes the comms slice the integrator has to plan around.
Ratings and what they govern
Input is specified 200 … 240 V on a single phase at 47.5 … 63 Hz — that is the supply envelope the installer has to meet before the drive will accept the line. Power factor is listed at 0.98, which is the figure to put on the panel single-line for harmonic/line-side budgeting, not a control-side parameter. Acoustic output is rated 62 dB(A), worth folding into cabinet-fan and room-noise planning where the cubicle sits close to operators. Maximum operating altitude is 2000 m, which is the point above which derating curves start to bite for this frame.
Cabinet layout
The R1 module occupies 120 mm wide × 220 mm high × 143 mm deep, so the panel-builder can lay out a column with standard 120 mm increments and still leave wiring room on the 143 mm axis. Mounting is module-style, consistent with DIN/cabinet integration rather than through-panel bulkhead fitting.
