Drive fit for pump, fan, and conveyor loads
The ABB ACS580-01-04A1 is a general-purpose frequency converter designed for variable-torque loads like centrifugal pumps and fans, as well as constant-torque conveyors. Its 380-480 V three-phase input range covers common global industrial supply voltages, so it fits panels fed from 400 V or 480 V distribution without a transformer.
Fieldbus and I/O for controls integration
The drive ships with a built-in RS-485 serial interface and supports MODBUS, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, CANopen, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET IO, and TCP/IP via optional modules. One USB port and two parallel interfaces are on board for local commissioning and basic I/O. This means a controls integrator can drop it into a multi-vendor network without a gateway, but the number of hardware interfaces is limited — expect to add a fieldbus adapter if the network requires dedicated ports.
Acoustic and environmental limits
Sound pressure is rated at 59 dB(A) — noticeable in a quiet control room but acceptable near machinery. The altitude rating of 1000 m without derating means installations above sea level need to derate current per IEC 61800-2; at 2000 m expect roughly a 10% current reduction.
