Drive identity and input power envelope
The ABB ACS580-01-206A-4 is a frequency converter in the ACS580 series, built in an R7 frame and rated for three-phase input at 47.5 to 63 Hz. The IP21 degree of protection and NEMA 1 enclosure mean it is suitable for indoor, dry-location installation without washdown exposure — the drive relies on fan-forced cooling through the enclosure, so clearance around the R7 frame must follow the mounting manual to keep the inlet and outlet paths unobstructed.
I/O complement and control wiring
The drive carries two analog inputs and two analog outputs for speed reference and feedback loops, plus six digital inputs and three digital outputs for start/stop, fault reset, and status indication. The 24 VDC loop draw from the digital outputs should be checked against the PLC sink capacity — each output sinks a standard 100 mA, and the total must stay within the drive's internal 24 V supply rating if the outputs are powered from the drive itself.
Acoustic noise and ambient constraints
Sound pressure level is 67 dB(A) — this is audible in a quiet control room and may require the drive to be located in a separate electrical room if the operator station is within the same enclosure. The altitude rating is 1000 m without derating; above that elevation the air density drops and the drive's cooling capacity decreases, so the output current must be derated per the ACS580 manual for installations above 1000 m.
