What the 100 HP heavy-duty rating means for fit
The 'heavy duty' label on the ACS880-01-119A-7 isn't marketing — it's the drive's rated output under constant-torque loads. That 100 HP heavy-duty figure is the number you use for sizing on a typical industrial motor: a 100 HP, 460 VAC induction motor on a conveyor or extruder. If your load is variable-torque (centrifugal pump or fan), the drive can likely deliver more than 100 HP, but the heavy-duty rating is the safe spec for design-in.
