What the 25 A rating means for the panel
The AF09-30-10-11 is an ABB IEC contactor rated 25 A at 600 VAC, 3-pole, in the AF09 frame. That 25 A is the continuous thermal current (Ith) — the current the main poles carry without exceeding the temperature rise limit of the contactor housing. For motor switching, derate to the AC-3 utilization category; the AF09 frame typically handles a 5.5 kW motor at 400 V, but the exact motor FLA on the nameplate is what governs the contactor selection, not the Ith figure. The coil accepts 20-60 V AC or DC — a wide-range electronic coil that eliminates the need to swap coils between control voltages. On a panel with mixed 24 V and 48 V control circuits, one contactor variant covers both, simplifying the BOM.
Active production and sourcing posture
The AF09-30-10-11 carries a single N.O. auxiliary contact built into the frame (the '-11' suffix indicates one N.O. auxiliary). If the application needs additional auxiliary contacts, ABB offers snap-on auxiliary contact blocks that mount directly to the AF09 frame without tools.
