Rated switching and coil characteristics
The ABB AF09-40-00-11 is a 4-pole contactor rated for 25 A continuous current, switching loads up to 690 VAC or 440 VDC. That 25 A figure is the thermal current (Ith) — the maximum the main poles can carry continuously in open air. For motor starting duty (AC-3), expect the standard derating to roughly 9 A at 400 V, typical for this frame size. The control coil accepts both 24-60 VAC and 20-60 VDC, which simplifies panel wiring where a single supply feeds both AC and DC contactor coils.
Surface-mount footprint: 45 mm wide × 86 mm tall × 77 mm deep. No DIN-rail clip on this variant — it bolts directly to a backplate or sub-panel. The 4-pole layout occupies roughly the same width as a 3-pole contactor plus one auxiliary block, so factor that into your enclosure fill calculations. No auxiliary contacts are fitted as shipped (the -00-11 suffix indicates zero NO + zero NC aux), so add a side-mount block if you need feedback or interlocking.
