Coil voltage range that covers both AC and DC control
The AF16Z-30-10-21 is a 3-pole non-reversing contactor rated 30 A, with a single normally open auxiliary contact. What sets it apart is the coil: it accepts 24-60 VAC and 20-60 VDC on the same terminals — no need to swap coils or add a rectifier when switching between control schemes. That wide dual-range coil simplifies panel wiring for mixed-voltage systems. If your control transformer puts out 48 VAC but the safety circuit runs on 24 VDC, this one contactor handles both without a separate coil changeout.
Panel fit and what the 30 A rating means
For a junior on the panel, that means the main power wires land on the line and load terminals, and the 1 NO auxiliary contact feeds the PLC input or the holding circuit. The screw terminals accept up to 10 mm² conductor, so it fits into a motor starter assembly or a standalone contactor bank without needing adapters.
