The ABB S201M-C1 is a 1-pole miniature circuit breaker from the S200M series, rated at 1 A with a Trip Curve C characteristic. The interrupting rating is 6 kA at 277 VAC and 10 kA at 60 VDC, which means it can safely clear a fault up to those levels without welding contacts or cascading upstream. For a 1 A branch circuit protecting a control transformer or a small lighting load, that headroom is generous — the real-world fault current is almost always lower. Trip Curve C means the magnetic trip operates at 5 to 10 times rated current (5–10 A for this unit), so it tolerates the inrush of small inductive loads like contactor coils or relay banks without nuisance tripping, while still clearing a hard short fast enough to protect the downstream wiring.
Panel Integration
Single-pole width is 17.5 mm — one module of space. The cage terminals accept 1–25 mm² wire (solid or stranded), and the IP20 finger-safe front stays compliant inside an enclosed panel.
