32 A, Curve D — what it means for the panel
The ABB S201M-D32 is a 1-pole miniature circuit breaker from the S200M series, rated 32 A with a Trip Curve D characteristic. Curve D means the magnetic trip threshold is set to 10–20× In (320–640 A instantaneous), designed for loads with high inrush currents — motor starters, transformers, or welding equipment — where a B or C curve would nuisance-trip on startup. The 6 kA interrupting rating at 277 VAC covers most commercial and light industrial panelboard fault levels; the 10 kA DC rating at 60 VDC suits DC control circuits or battery-backed loads.
DIN-rail integration
Single-pole width (roughly 18 mm per module) leaves room for adjacent breakers or accessories in a crowded enclosure. Rated 277 VAC line-to-neutral or line-to-line on a single pole; the 60 VDC rating covers control-voltage applications common in industrial panels.
