Single-pole construction limits it to 277 VAC line-to-neutral circuits.
D-curve selectivity in practice
The D-curve magnetic trip starts at 10× In (160 A instantaneous) and extends to 20× In (320 A). That wide magnetic band gives you headroom for motor-start current without sacrificing short-circuit protection. In a coordination study, this breaker upstream of a smaller C-curve device will generally hold selective — the downstream clears first on a moderate fault, the D-curve waits for the big one. Panel builders wiring motor starters or control transformers reach for this curve by habit.
