What this breaker does on the line
The K-curve means it tolerates brief inrush from motor or transformer loads without nuisance tripping — magnetic trip fires at 10–14× rated current, so a 10 A breaker holds through a 100–140 A surge for a few cycles. Rated 480 V on a single pole, it can handle line-to-line voltage on a 277/480 Y system or a 480 V corner-grounded delta. The 10 A continuous rating covers control transformers up to about 2.5 kVA or a 3–5 HP motor depending on the duty cycle. For a cement plant control panel running 50 °C ambient near the preheater, the K-curve buys you margin against the heat-soaked inrush that would trip a B-curve breaker mid-shift.
