The S202-C50 is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker rated 50 A continuous with a C trip curve, meaning it holds through moderate motor-start or transformer inrush — typically 5–10× rated current — and trips fast on hard shorts. The thermal-magnetic trip mechanism combines a bimetal element for overload protection and a solenoid for short-circuit response. On the C curve, magnetic trip occurs between 5 and 10 times the rated current — so for a 50 A breaker, instantaneous trip starts around 250 A and is guaranteed by 500 A. That's a good fit for general-purpose distribution and moderate motor loads (pumps, fans, small compressors) where startup current doesn't exceed the curve's hold range.
The 2-pole footprint takes two module widths (36 mm) on the rail — plan your enclosure layout accordingly. Spring-cage terminals accept 0.75–25 mm² conductors; strip length 12 mm. Torque terminals to 2.5 N·m. The busbar comb can feed multiple S200-series breakers in a distribution block, but verify the comb's ampacity matches the 50 A feed.
