The ABB S202-D32 is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker rated 32 A with a Trip Curve D characteristic, designed for DIN-rail mounting in distribution panels and control cabinets.
The Trip Curve D means the magnetic trip operates at 10 to 20 times the rated current (320 to 640 A), which suits loads with high inrush — motor starters, transformers, welding equipment, and discharge lighting. A standard Curve C (5–10× In) would nuisance-trip on the same inrush; Curve D gives the headroom to ride through it. The 32 A continuous rating is the thermal limit under IEC 60898-1; at 40 °C ambient the breaker carries the full 32 A without derating. Above that, apply the manufacturer's temperature derating curve — typically 1% per °C over 40 °C.
