On DC circuits it handles 10 kA at 125 VDC, which covers most industrial control bus and battery backup feeds.
The S202M-C40 is the 40 A, 2-pole member of the S200M series. Its closest siblings are the single-pole S201M-C3 (3 A, same curve C) and the 3-pole S203-C8 (8 A, 10 kA interrupting AC). The key difference for a buyer: if your panel was wired around the S201M-C3, the S202M-C40 will not drop in without rewiring the neutral and load connections — same DIN-rail footprint, but the pole count and amp rating are different. The S203-C8 offers a higher interrupting capacity (10 kA vs 6 kA) at 277 VAC, which matters if the available fault current at the panel exceeds 6 kA.
