What the ratings mean for fit
The ABB S202MUC-Z25 is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker from the S200MUC series, rated 25 A with a Trip Curve Z characteristic. Curve Z trips between 2.5x and 4x rated current, making it the tightest standard trip curve — designed for protecting semiconductor circuits, PLC power supplies, and sensitive electronic loads where even brief overcurrents can damage components. The 25 A rating means it carries that current continuously in a 30 °C ambient; above that, derate per the thermal curve on the datasheet. Rated 277 VAC with a 6 kA interrupting capacity, and 500 VDC with 10 kA interrupting capacity. The DC rating is notably higher than the AC figure — this breaker handles DC fault currents better than many general-purpose MCBs, which matters for string-level solar combiner boxes or DC bus protection in drives. The 277 VAC rating covers 277/480 V wye systems common in North American commercial lighting panels.
DIN rail integration
Snap-on DIN rail mounting per EN 60715. The 2-pole body takes 36 mm of rail width (two 18 mm modules). Spring-cage terminals accept 0.5–25 mm² conductors; strip length 12 mm. Torque to 2.5 Nm. No busbar bridging between poles — each pole is individually fed, so plan for jumper links if you need a common supply.
