Integrator note — K-curve on a 2-pole 25 A frame
The ABB S202P-K25 is a 2-pole miniature circuit breaker rated 25 A with a K-curve trip characteristic, meaning it tolerates the inrush of motor and transformer loads without nuisance tripping — the magnetic trip threshold sits around 8–12× rated current, wider than a C-curve's 5–10×. At 277 VAC it delivers a 10 kA interrupting capacity, enough for most panelboard fault levels downstream of a 22 kA main. Snaps onto standard DIN rail; occupies two pole widths in the enclosure.
Selectivity and coordination
The K-curve on this 25 A breaker is the deciding factor for motor branch circuits and inductive loads — it holds through the 8–12× inrush region where a C-curve would trip. Compared to a C-curve sibling at the same 25 A frame, the S202P-K25 gives you wider headroom for starting currents on pumps, compressors, and small conveyors. The 10 kA SCCR at 277 VAC coordinates cleanly with a 22 kA main upstream, provided the let-through energy of the main does not exceed the breaker's rated short-circuit capacity.
Panel integration
DIN rail mount, 2-pole width. Strip length 8 mm. Occupies standard 36 mm per pole on the rail — plan fill factor accordingly in the enclosure layout.
