What the K-curve and 63 A rating mean on site
K-curve breakers are built for inductive loads — motors, transformers, solenoid banks. The magnetic trip threshold sits higher than a B or C curve (typically 8–12× rated current), so it won't nuisance-trip on the inrush of a 63 A-rated motor or a cluster of contactor coils. At 63 A, this 2-pole unit covers a 15–20 kW motor on 277/480 V three-phase, or a pair of 277 V lighting feeds. The 10 kA interrupting rating means it can clear a bolted fault at the panelboard without welding its contacts shut — standard for downstream distribution in a 100 kA-rated main switchboard.
Panel fit
Two-pole width (36 mm nominal) fits a 2-module slot in any ABB or third-party distribution board.
